What is VGM (Verified Gross Mass)?
VGM (Verified Gross Mass) refers to the accurate and reliable calculation of the total weight of containers. As of July 1, 2016, under the SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea) regulations enforced by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), the verified gross weight of all containers must be reported. The primary purpose of this regulation is to ensure accuracy during loading and transportation and to enhance the safety of the vessel.
